EPISODE SUMMARY
Today we are so excited to welcome Cami and Elisabeth of the Biz Birthday Bash onto the podcast. We’ll hear from them today about how they dare to create their business even with having their own respective calligraphy businesses together.
They have created the Biz Birthday Bash, which is a business, podcast, and a brand with a shop while maintaining their own individual stationery businesses.
We can’t wait to hear from them about how they became biz besties and created a community within the stationery world. So stay tuned.
BIZ BIRTHDAY BASH DARES YOU
Cami: I want you guys to actually find your biz bestie, so I dare you to maybe go make a friend on Instagram or Facebook, comment and then actually take that connection offline.
Elisabeth: I dare you to do something in your business that scares you. Maybe it’s like putting the product out there that you’ve never had the guts to do before. Maybe hiring somebody to help you with something, but think about like what, what is going to push you a little bit this year and go get it done.
FAST FACTS ABOUT BIZ BIRTHDAY BASH
What is your favorite tool in biz?
Cami: Dubsado
Elisabeth: Photoshop
What’s your favorite wedding/creative pump up jam?
Cami: I love some Angels and Airwaves and Tricky by Run DMC
Elisabeth: I love John Mayer because he’s so relaxing and I’ve gotten really into Lizzo and Post Malone.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of your business?
Cami: Working out. I really love going to the gym, and right now I don’t have the gym, so I’m just doing stuff in my driveway. It’s very awkward with my neighbors.
Elisabeth: I’m trying to read a lot more recently and I love being outside and traveling. I also love traveling by myself and exploring places.
What is one daring the leap you’ve taken in your business?
Cami: What felt like the biggest leap was when I raised my prices for the first time from being like the cheapest person on the block to like being like, “okay, this is actually what I should be charging.” I think that was literally terrifying, But it was such a game changer in how I grew my business and the direction I started to pivot the types of clients I worked with.
Elisabeth: I feel like the biggest leap I took was hiring my brand and website designer. It’s the most money I’ve ever spent in my business. Maybe like ever. It costs more than my car, you guys like, and granted, I bought a used car and we did a lot of research to find a good one and the one we wanted, but still a big investment.
