034: DARING to Restart Your Wedding Business on a New Coast with Amandarose of AGS Photo Art

November 11, 2020

Today we’re chatting with Amandarose of AGS Photo Art about her daring leap moving across the country. Not only did she move to another coast, she also took her well-established photography business and started again from square 1.

We really love Amandarose’s many bold moves, from creating community in a brand new area, to opening her own studio. Let’s dive in!

AMANDAROSE DARES YOU

I dare you to take risks. If I hadn’t moved cross country and started my business here, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

FAST FACTS ABOUT AMANDAROSE of AGS PHOTO ART

What do you shoot with?

Canon 5D MarkIV, Hasselblad 500 cm and a Contax 645.

What’s your favorite post-wedding or event snack?

It differs depending on which coast I’m on. So on the East Coast, it’s a Dunkin Donuts, old fashioned. On the West Coast, I’m completely different. I have a green smoothie and hopefully, a pastry.

What’s your favorite wedding/creative pump up jam?

I love music! My favorite artists are Kid Cudi, Nicki Minaj and Khalid.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of your business?

I’m actually a huge foodie and craft cocktail type of person, so I love creating those.

What is one daring the leap you’ve taken in your business?

I’d say moving across the country.

What is one thing you feel like you’re really great at in your business? I’m very business minded. I’m really good at separating how I feel about things and what’s best for my business. I’m here to do what I love and I’m beyond lucky to do what I love, but I’m also here to make money and keep doing what I love. I have a really strong understanding of when to separate those things.
